Hockney Montages

Last week in photography we were asked to select a photographer that interested us from a list. I choose the artist David Hockney and created a presentation about his art work specifically his photo montages. This week I attempted to replicate these montages and took many pictures at different angles and distance of a single subject and edited them together to make a whole image.

  1. Hayden, these images are very interesting/cool! I like how the mini collage doesn't take up the entire square in the portrait. I think you did a great job matching and layering the images. Good work!!

  2. i like the car one the best because i think your series is strongest when you have disproportionate sizes in the details of your subjects, like making the car mirror huge and the hood way smaller.

  3. You did a very good job capturing the realistic, but still chaotic feel that David Hockney uses in his photo collages. All of the photos felt like a real world object even though all the photos where taken at different angles.

  4. I think you did a good job at layering the pictures together and making it all come together.
